Where the Adventure Started
Ethnosphere is a passion project of Mike Neundorfer, founder and president of Advanced RV in Willoughby, Ohio. Mike loves talking to anyone and everyone, but more than that, he loves to listen. He does so with a genuine interest and an open mind, believing that we all have stories to be told. He wanted to create a magazine to share these stories, art, and photography—essential pieces of the human experience—in a wholesome, uplifting way, free of advertisements or hyperbole.
In striking up a conversation with Madeline Lanshe, his server at a local restaurant, Mike learned that, aside from a volleyball addiction, Madeline has a Master of Fine Arts degree centered on creative writing. Mike hired her as editor-in-chief and designer to take on the project of bringing his vision to life. Though the first six issues were released on the Advanced RV website—pulling many stories from those in close proximity—Mike knew from the start he wanted it to stand on its own. He had the goal to transcend the ARV community and touch and engage people far beyond. It is Mike and Madeline’s hope that Ethnosphere will stay true to its name, gathering fragments of the human experience and acting as a way to connect, express, and inspire. |
